SAFARI COLOURS

It is really worth emphasizing how important it is to wear muted tones that blend in with the background, think khaki, beige and sand colours. Do not pack anything white or black; white attracts insects to you and black ansorbs the heat so you will find it hard to keep cool. Try these jodhpurs which are the perfect colour for a safari!

PACK LIGHT

Africa is one of the few destinations where hot and sunny weather is practically guaranteed so you don’t need to pack the same amount of options as you might if you were say, riding in Ireland in September. Most of the safaris also offer a laundry service and coupled with luggage restrictions on many of the small, charter flights that take you into the reserves, it is very much in your interests to develop a stream-lined packing list. This stylish holdall is on our wishlist.

GADGETS

As well as a good camera on your phone it’s also useful to have a GoPro camera or similar if you want to make videos of your ride. Other essential bits of technology to take are a power bank or solar powered charger as electricity is not guaranteed when riding in the African bush!
