It’s summer, it’s getting hot… and in the hot summer afternoons, the only thing we want to do is find a body of water and take a dip to refresh! Sometimes, the idea of horse riding as temperatures are rising can seem daunting, so why not combine your passion with the best summer pasttime and go for a horse riding holiday where you will be able to swim with your horse?

France – Camargue Mountains and Beach Trail
In this 7 days / 6 nights riding trail, you will start your itinerary following a trail along the river and enjoying picnic breaks by the Durance, in the beautiful landscape of the Luberon region, before reaching at the end of the week the famous beaches of Camargue where you will be able to enjoy long canters and get into the water, among flamingos and traditional “manades”, the South of France ranches.

Greece – Greek Island Escape
Known as the jewel of the Dodecanese, Rhodes abounds with turquoise water, wooded valleys and ancient history. This destination offers a relaxing week of horse riding on a Greek ranch where horses are trained with the Natural Horsemanship method, with a few hours riding each day and plenty of time to explore the white sand beaches, hidden waterfalls and mountain villages, all topped off by the peerless Greek food. You will be able to ride bareback and swim at the dam of Laerma as well as canoe on the lake. A wonderful opportunity to explore Rhodes in the saddle.

Spain – Cadiz Coastal Trail
Head to the Costa De La Luz in south western Spain for superb horse-riding on golden beaches and sandy tracks through unspoilt forests. An ideal introduction to riding holidays, with morning rides followed by quieter afternoons with time to swim or visit the local area before going out for dinner in the evening. With a fantastic warm and sunny climate this stretch of Atlantic coast offers a real treat for horse riders. At times the pace on the beach is fast and exhilarating, but in between the faster sections the pace is walking and you can relax and enjoy your surroundings.

Morocco – Atlantic Coast Ride
During these five days the trail ride takes you through the forests of eucalyptus and mimosas and on the beautiful deserted beaches along the Atlantic coast towards the south. Ride along the narrow paths of the shoreline, through small Berber villages, across sand dunes and past waterfalls. The Atlantic Coast trail follows a succession of deserted beaches and cliffs with impressive vistas, and takes you through argan and olive trees fields as well as remote villages and landscapes.

Head to the tropical shores of Mozambique for arguably the world’s best beach riding. Endless white sands, turquoise waters and remote archipelagos all await.
